The cost of an MOT depends on the type of vehicle, and is set by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).

There is no VAT to pay on the MOT fee.
If your vehicle fails its MOT, you can get a free retest if you complete the necessary repairs at the same MOT test centre within 10 working days, or take it back to the same test centre before the end of the next working day for a partial retest on specified items.
